Yes! Pompton Pet Sitters is fully insured and bonded, and every team member undergoes a background check before joining. We're employees — never independent contractors — so you always know who is coming to your home.
Not at all. Our team has experience with a wide range of animals. We care for dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, rabbits, and more!
Bookings can be made through our client portal up to 48 hours in advance, but we strongly recommend booking 2–3 weeks ahead, especially during busy seasons like summer and the holidays (availability is not guaranteed). For requests within 48 hours of your service date, please reach out to us directly by text. We'll always do our best to make it work, though last-minute availability isn't guaranteed and an additional fee applies.
We understand plans change! We request that cancellations be made at least 48 hours before a scheduled visit to avoid a cancellation charge.
Yes! We provide services 365 days a year! Please note that bookings on the holidays listed below will be subject to an additional fee of $10 per visit:

We recommend booking holiday visits well in advance as spots fill up quickly.
As a team-based business, we cannot assign a dedicated sitter to each client — and we think that's actually a good thing! In order to provide availability 7 days per week, morning through evening, we need to be able to assign our sitters efficiently. Having a full team means there's always someone available for your pet, even if a sitter is ill, takes vacation, or has an unforeseen circumstance. Rest assured that every member of our team is trained to the same standard, so your pet gets consistent, quality care no matter who visits — and many pets love getting to know the whole crew!
We schedule visits within 2-hour arrival windows rather than exact times — for example, if your ideal visit time is 2 pm, choose the 1–3 pm window. Pet care is an unpredictable business! To provide the best service to all of our scheduled clients, our team needs the flexibility to handle unforeseen circumstances such as traffic, accidents, uncooperative pets, etc. Please understand that we cannot guarantee exact visit times. If timing is a particular concern — such as for a pet who needs medication at a set time — let us know, and we'll do our best to accommodate.
That's up to you! If your home has a door or garage code, we are happy to use that. Otherwise, we provide a lockbox free of charge so that your key remains at your home at all times. We highly recommend a back-up access plan, as electronic entry can fail or you may inadvertently forget to put out the lockbox. We will happily store a spare key in our secure location, or you can provide us with contact information for a friend or family member who has one. A garage/door code or hide-a-key also work as a back-up method.
Yes! Our team is experienced with many types of medications, including oral medications, eye drops, and topicals. Insulin injections are given on a case-by-case basis. Please provide clear written instructions and all necessary supplies at the time of your booking. For pets with complex medical needs, however, we may not be able to accommodate every request. There is no extra charge for medication administration.
After every visit, your sitter will leave a detailed message in our client portal, which will also be emailed to you. Our staff will fill you in on everything that happened during the visit, from how much your pet ate to how the walk went and anything else worth noting. And of course, we include pictures of your pets, which is every client's favorite part!
We do not offer overnight or live-in services, but our visit schedule is designed to come as close as possible! We offer visits from early morning through bedtime, and clients can book up to 4 visits per day. Most of our dog clients find that 3 visits per day provide plenty of check-ins, exercise, feeding, and companionship throughout the day without the need for someone to stay overnight. Not sure how many visits your pet needs? We're happy to help you figure out the right schedule!
For regular dog walks or exercise visits, if your schedule is consistent, we can set up a recurring plan so your walks are automatically booked without you having to think about it. If your days are less predictable, no problem! You can book visits on an as-needed basis. Just remember to book more than 48 hours in advance to avoid a late fee, and whenever possible, booking further ahead is always a good idea to ensure availability.
